Vani Vidyalaya Senior Secondary and Junior college witnessed its 4th election on 6th July in its campus.Nominations by the candidates were filed with the Chief Election Officer Mr. Harish of Chemistry department on 29th June.
Campaigning started on 1st July, with 10 student contestants, contesting for 3 posts namely Assistant School Pupil Leader (ASPL), Assistant Sports Secretary (ASS.), Assistant Cultural Secretary (ACS) . The enthusiasm shown by the contestants were remarkable. All contestants were on their toes to outshine the other. The four day campaigning came to an end on 5th July at by 3.30pm in the evening.
Election started on 6th morning by 9.30am. All students from VIII to XII cast their votes. The election lasted for 3 hours, the whole process was well guarded and monitored by a team of social teachers. Chief Election Officer Mr. Harish was extra cautious to prevent any sort of malpractices or corruption in the due process. The vigilance was at par with the parliamentary election. Counting of votes was done under the supervision of the CEO and SPL. The winning candidates were elected by a clean sweep.
N.Siva Rama Krishnan was elected as Assistant School Pupil Leader, Balaje.N.Prasanna as the Assistant Sports Secretary and Naveen.A as the Assistant Cultural Secretary. The results were announced in the open assembly by the Principal Mrs.Aruna Appasamy.
She took pride in announcing the results and also advised them to be more responsible, as she said "Responsibility comes with Authority".
